6 Tech Tips to Quench the Burn
eGuide
A recent study of nearly 7,000 physicians found that half of American doctors exhibit symptoms of burnout. A previous Mayo Clinic study found a similar disturbingly high incidence of physician burnout: 54% of doctors reported experiencing at least one symptom of burnout from the Maslach Burnout Inventory, a validated tool for measuring burnout.
While not specifically included in these studies, mounting evidence also suggests that other providers, and even staff to a somewhat lesser extent, suffer the same effects from today’s high-stress healthcare delivery environment.
Even more alarming, the physician suicide rate is now much higher than the general public’s – even exceeding that of combat veterans. Whether you’re managing a solo practice or a large group setting, burnout touches nearly all aspects of healthcare delivery.
