AdvancedMD Announces Availability of ANSI 5010 Ready 2011 Fall Release

ADP AdvancedMD client base ahead of the 5010 compliance curve

SALT LAKE CITY, UT – November 15, 2011 – ADP® AdvancedMD today announced its 2011 Fall release, a milestone upgrade of its industry-leading cloud electronic health record, practice managementmedical scheduling software, and billing applications for medical practices and medical billing services. Aimed specifically at ensuring compliant claims processing, the new release enables practices to immediately send ANSI 5010-formatted claims to insurance carriers via the ADP AdvancedMD integrated clearinghouse and billing module.

ANSI 5010 is the new electronic data format standard that every health care provider will be required to use in health care transactions, code sets, and identifiers by January 1, 2012.

“Being ANSI 5010 ready now, ahead of the curve, enables practices that utilize our software to be prepared for the upcoming regulatory format change and avoid the risk of increased denied claims,” said Raul Villar, president of ADP AdvancedMD. “As regulations change, we update our cloud platform once, bringing our entire client base into compliance overnight.”

In contrast, medical practices on traditional client-server or application service provider (ASP) technologies potentially face costly and time-intensive on-site upgrades in order to achieve ANSI 5010 compliance.

The new ADP AdvancedMD claims submission process has undergone rigorous testing between medical practices, billing services and insurance payers. With the 2011 Fall release, clients can begin immediate testing and correct any workflow issues before the new standard takes effect. Because the service is cloud-based, all clients will be automatically transitioned to the ANSI 5010 format on January 1, 2012, without purchasing updated software or incurring additional installation fees.

“The ADP AdvancedMD 2011 Fall release means that any claim our clients submit will be in compliance with the new standard, today and moving forward, with little additional effort on their part,” said Satish Malnaik, CEO and co-founder of NextServices, a cloud-based revenue cycle management and healthcare analytics firm and an ADP AdvancedMD customer and partner. “Our customers rely on us to keep their claims process and revenue cycle running, and we rely on ADP AdvancedMD to deliver a great cloud solution with one of the highest claims acceptance rates in the industry.”

“With ADP AdvancedMD, I feel completely confident about upcoming regulation requirements for our practice,” said Nancy Ward, practice manager for family practice physician John M. Ward, D.O. “Because ADP AdvancedMD is a cloud service, nearly all the changes are managed for me. They even coached me on the only things we are required to handle on our end, such as entering our full 9-digit zip code and changing some legacy provider information – they’ve been really phenomenal.”
