Helpful Resources

Practice Management

Developer Portal
We now offer our integration partners and clients a modern developer portal that app developers can use to seamlessly access information, documentation, and support for AdvancedMD APIs and interoperability services, all in one convenient place. This portal gives you access to our latest documentation, lets you interact with support, and manage your apps.

FHIR API Service-base URL Standardization
Publicly access a list of standardized service-base URLs (endpoints) in a machine-readable format at no charge. These electronic endpoints are the specific locations on the internet that make it possible for apps to access EHI at a patient or provider’s request.

Reset Password via Email
Passwords can now be reset by email using a simple self-managed process. Simply click “Forgot Password” and enter basic credentials and an email will be sent so you can reset your password.

Remove PM Outdated Quality Reports
We have sunset four legacy CQM reports that were part of the Meaningful Use program.

  • Promoting Interoperability (PI/MU)
  • Promoting Interoperability (PI/MU) Detail
  • Quality Measures
  • Quality Measures Detail

Compliance Update to User Management Reports
Rather than gather screenshots, you can now run User Listing and Roles and Permissions reports. Save time and run both reports directly in our Report Center.

Updated Prescription by Provider Report
Our Prescription by Provider report has been updated to filter and track prescriptions and fill status. There are many enhancements to help you better audit prescriptions by provider, patient, date, type, and pharmacy. You can also make more timely medication decisions that impact patient care. You can filter for transmission data. You can see the pharmacy name, address, and phone number. You can easily see the prescription, basic chart information, and transaction IDs. Prescription fill information is returned from the pharmacy and automatically populates in the Prescription card. Having immediate access to this information is critical for helping you evaluate patient medication adherence. Our Help Files have been updated to further explain transmissions and status filtering and reporting.

App Services – User Management Enhancements
We have created several enhancements to our User Management. App services users can launch the support manage contact action from inside app services. This gives you a second way to send an email with a link to the owners. This tool allows owners to assign Application Services permission to users. The read-only access privilege lets you assign permissions to roles. You can allow non-purchasing users the ability to see the App Services module and pass along information to purchasing decision makers who infrequently log into AdvancedMD.

Claims – Same Day Rollup
We consolidated charges into a single visit for patients seen multiple times in the same day. This process is called “Roll-up Charges” and benefits those treating mental health conditions. When claims are processed as roll-up, and there are additional units sent with the claim, adjustments are made for extra minutes at the time claims are filed. This is based on the same percentage calculation used when ERA payments are posted. Debit adjustments are created for visits that bill out more than the individual charges add up to.

AdvancedMD Pay Custom Receipts
You can now personalize emailed credit card receipts in AdvancedMD Pay. Adding your branding helps build confidence and clarity with patients that charges are legitimate. We also make it easy to add custom messages.

Practice Management Beta

Patient Merge
You can now merge two patient records to clean up duplicates. This is especially helpful if you interface with third-party software systems or import patient data from other systems. This new feature gives you a safe and easy way to keep your patient database clean.

Patient Demographics and Responsible Party
Patient and Responsible Party pages have been updated to our card framework design to elevate your user experience. You can more easily access high-level patient information and details within each card and their associated mini cards. Our updated framework offers better integration for future key demographic information, including patient pronouns. You get a more unified and holistic user experience with easier data sharing of our dynamic cards across critical areas like our EHR and scheduler.

Single Sign-On
We added single sign-on (SSO) when logging into AdvancedMD. You can now leverage a single set of credentials for all your services and applications including AdvancedMD to streamline access and increase security.

Centralize Provider System Settings
All Provider System Settings have been combined into a single, streamlined interface, unifying fields and sub screens from the Provider Profile, Online Intake, and more. This consolidation offers a more efficient and intuitive management experience, allowing for quicker provider setup and easier navigation.

EHR

EHR Note – Add Visit Date and Time of Service to Provider Note
Automatically populate the visit date and time in your linked note with our new user preference. This saves time and helps keep documentation clear for visits. Be sure to backdate notes when documenting for previous days. This new feature helps prevents billing errors from the date of the documentation not matching the date of service.

EHR Chart Print – Print Narrative
Print narrative documents and full notes when including patient notes in Chart Print. This enhancement saves processing time and increases your professionalism. We have made it effortless to print aesthetically pleasing clinical summaries that can be shared with patients and external providers.

eRx – Update Workflow for Medications Marked as Discontinue, Historical, and Cancel Status
This enhancement streamlines workflow, eliminates redundant flows, and helps you properly status prescriptions more effectively for patient care. You can now view the “canceled” status on prescriptions in the medication list. When cancelling a medication at the pharmacy, you can mark the medication as “Discontinued” and add the medication to the patient’s allergy list (if appropriate). You can further manage “Historical” medications to make that medication discontinued. If the reason is due to an allergy, that allergy will be added to the allergy list. You can electronically send a prescription if the drug is on the Discontinued list. We include a new warning, and you can remove the medication from the discontinued list without exiting your workflow.

Prescribing – Group, Recurring, and Workflow Improvements
Create a favorite template that contains multiple prescriptions and prescribe multiple prescriptions at one time. Prescribe a recurring medication using the Do Not Fill Until dates that auto calculate. Use a Dose field in the Medication form to assist in calculating total dispense quantity. Autofill a provider or supervising provider in the Medication form. Sort the prescriptions alphabetically by medication.

Regulatory – Decision Support Interventions (ONC HTI-1)
Setup HW rules using the enhanced list of rules with new options including allergy reaction, UDI, medication dose, medication unit of measure. There are three key benefits: You can set up the source attributes for the HW to provide more transparency. You can provide feedback for all the events, interactions that intervene the user flow. And you can get information about the source of the intervention such as developer, source, release date, etc.

Enhancements to Medication History Import Feature
We have added additional data fields you can use when importing medications. This increases efficiency and patient safety as you have more data during the medication history import process.

Problems Card – Add Resolution Date
When updating a patient diagnosis from “Current” to “Historical,” you now can add a resolution date. Changes appear in the EHR Problems card only after a problem has been marked to “Save as Historical.” This is a regulatory requirement that helps you capture and exchange information among other elements in the USCDIv3 data element list.

Mobile – Adjust Time on Scheduler Quick View
Appointment times now automatically adjust depending on your patient’s local or preferred time zone. This helps you better and more accurately manage appointments and patient reminders.

Templates – Social Determinants of Health and Rheumatoid Arthritis
Social Determinants of Health (SDOH) templates help providers determine non-medical factors that affect patient health. Patient Activity Scale (PAS)-II helps clinicians assess and document the impact of rheumatoid arthritis. We now include both SDOH and PAS-II templates in our clinical template library along with patient forms that you can download and use as part of your regular EHR subscription. As CMS will soon require SDOH assessments, we are adding this capability ahead of the deadline. SDOH is reported through the Consolidated Clinical Document Architecture (C-CDA). We are also including a PAS-II template that adds rheumatoid arthritis for this CMS initiative.

Bright Futures Pediatric Template Content
Bright Futures is the industry standard for pediatric templates and content. We are adding all 21 templates that align with milestone pediatric patient ages to our template library. You can easily download and add these to your instance of AdvancedMD EHR. All templates include patient forms and a large library of patient education you can printout or send electronically through your patient portal or email.

EHR Beta

Clinical Notes Autosave
Automatically save updates made to your clinical notes by enabling the autosave feature. This improves clinical efficiency and prevents critical data loss while completing the clinical note.

Patient Engagement

Patient Messaging Platform
A new two-way patient messaging platform lets you track every patient call, SMS message, and website lead. This platform seamlessly converts leads to patients without the need for data entry. Our dashboard provides analytics on all types of leads like calls and text conversations, missed calls, and voicemails. Deep-dive filters put you in control of outbound communications. Key features.

  • Text-enable your practice and reduce phone calls.
  • Use your main office phone number for all text messages.
  • Receive insurance cards, medical histories, and images via text.
  • Website chatbot captures visitors and generates a lead.
  • Customize the chatbot to address common questions like scheduling or rescheduling, billing, intake forms, or prescriptions.

Credit Card On File Management
You now have the option to restrict patients from deleting credit cards on file. You can also remove the monthly charge limits previously available.

Telehealth Pre-call Chat
The chat module can be accessed in the Provider List View tab of the scheduler from the practice side. Patients are able to see the chat module during the telehealth intake workflow. NOTE: The chat does not carry into the telehealth Zoom call chat area.

Telehealth Guest Invites
This enhancement lets you add more participants to a telehealth appointment and send an invite in a single workflow. Guests do not receive the patient intake workflow and are directed to their own virtual waiting room. Your practice is able to send this link directly from the scheduler through the Provider List View in your office key instead of through your personal email or mobile number.

Telehealth Auth Capture for CCOF
When you enable the credit card on file (CCOF) feature, payments made by the patient are automatically authorized. You can decide if you would like to modify, zero out, or capture the copay payment after the appointment.

Patient Engagement Beta

Telehealth – Auto-checkout Setting
Now decide if you want telehealth appointments to be automatically or manually checked out. When auto-checkout is enabled, it will streamline your workflow and improve accuracy.

Telehealth – Capture and Display Additional Subscriber Information
The Patient File Upload worklist lets you access a worklist to view insurance cards that have been uploaded by patients through the telehealth check-in process, patient portal, and online scheduling. Patients can add additional subscriber information such as subscriber name and date of birth when uploading an insurance card image through telehealth. You can now see additional subscriber information in the new Patient Upload worklist with the insurance card images. Automated front-desk workflow reduces the need for office staff to reach out to patients for missing info when adding insurance to their demographics.
